2000 ford f150locowav 12-18-2004, 01:35 PM Two or three times a week when I turn on my truck it will start and then just drowns out or loses gas. When this happens I give it a little gas when I start up and leave the gas pressed for about 20 seconds and the truck will stay on. I already changed the fuel filter. and thats about as far as my mechanical skills go. Any suggestions? Litmus 02-02-2005, 06:13 AM I have a 2000 f-150 4x4 xlt that does the same thing even more when it is cold. I will ask on other boards and give an answer if I get one. ModMech 02-02-2005, 01:28 PM Sounds like the Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid is sticking. Replace it, it is easy to do. 4.6_F150 02-02-2005, 05:31 PM I have the same problem with my 2000 when its very cold out. It usually takes a few tries to stay running.I have to bring it in for the cruise control "issue" next week so im gonna have it looked at then. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
