My 93 JGC was running fine and then suddenly quite and the check engine light came on. I have fuel pressure and it turns over fine, but am not getting any fire out of the ignition coil. Replace the coil and still no spark. I check the computer codes using the check engine light methode and when I cycle the key three times the light never starts flashing codes.....could this be a computer failure?

Hi, When you first turn the key on does the check light come on right away. Dale jeepman600@aol.com :2cents:

Remember, cycle the key on and off three times in succesion. I'm almost positive you have the analog odometer, in which case your light should blink. If this fails, a DRB tool is necessary.

I do have the analoge odometer and the light comes on right away and never flashes. I have tried the three times in succession cycle several times and the light never flashes.

Coil Wire spark and resistance check? Any voltage going to the coil with key in the run position?

Sorry, I goofed.

Your '93 is NOT OBDII compliant.

I tried a new wire from the coil to the distributor, still no fire. And I put a known good coil on with no improvement. How much voltage should I get to the coil with the key in the run position?

I am still very suspicious of the computer since it is not behaving correctly with regards to flashing fault codes.

I had to have it towed so I went a head and took it to my local Jeep Dealer, we willl see what they come up with on Monday. Any ideas are still appreciated. Thanks. Jeep-Nut

I got the Jeep back from the dealer and they found a 30 amp "Maxi-Fuse" blown in the power distribution center under the hood. The fuse in question was the one for the Computer.....so I was on the right track suspecting the computer, but am much relieved that it was a $2.00 fuse instead of a $500.00 computer. Thanks for the suggestions.
