Fuel Pressure Regulator, 88 CherokeeNJPagan 12-16-2004, 04:58 PM Well, it would appear my fuel pressure regulator has sprung a minor leak, so before I'm sporting a nifty under the hood fire, I'm going to change it out over the weekend... Yes, yes...I'm going to read all the yada the Hayne's manual has to spout about it, but you know what I'm looking for, anybody who's done the job and said, "Damn, I wish I knew about that BEFORE I did this job..." It *looks* like a simple job, but as it's been noted before, what looks like simple ends up being that first step into the 7th Circle Of Hell... Thanks in advance, Stephen Dale Aeppli 12-16-2004, 06:06 PM Well, it would appear my fuel pressure regulator has sprung a minor leak, so before I'm sporting a nifty under the hood fire, I'm going to change it out over the weekend... Thanks in advance, Stephen What is wrong with the one you have , does it have a pin hole in the cannister? Dale jeepman600@aol.com :2cents: NJPagan 12-18-2004, 06:16 AM I didn't see any pinhole in the body of the canister itself, in fact, it was hard to tell exactly where it was coming from. I've also noticed since posting that it doesn't appear to leak under what might be considered "normal" driving conditions. If you "get on it" (accelerate hard through four gears and come to a stop sign or light and then accelerate hard up through the gears two or three times) it tends to leak. It's not a gushing leak, it's a wet Fuel Pressure Regulator. I've also considered the possibility it's the connection between the Regulator and the fuel rail. In either case, a change out should solve the problem... YOU CAN REMOVE IT FROM RAIL THERE IS A SMALL CLAMP BOLT YOU LOOSEN AND REMOVE CLAMP FROM REGULATOR. PULL THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY APART. AFTER PULLING REGULATOR APART YOU CAN REPLACE THE O-RING SEALS, HOPE THIS HELPS QUESTIONS HOLLER DALE jeepman600@aol.com :2cents: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
