i have a 1993 acura integra. It recently ran out of gas and it wont re start anymore . I added gas , i changed the distributor cap and the rotor but im not getting a spark from my cables any idea what will fix this. the fuel pump i relly doubt cause i ccan smell the gas. it doesnt give a sprk from the cables i have no idea what to do.

u should really go to the nearest auto store and pick up a circuit tester to see if u have any eletrical problems but if that's not it check the fuel filter and injectors since u said it's not the fuel pump but check ur ground wires and everything as well

Go out side and turn the Ignition switch to the "ON" position, make sure it is quiet around you. Now do you hear the fuel pump turn on for about 3 seconds? If not then it could be bad.

I have a 1988 Integra. Had the same problem. Drove me nuts. Mechanics could not figure it out. Finally took it to a Honda/Acura specialty shop. They knew exactly what it was. I forget what it was, but its some problem unique to Acuras. --very hard to detect--. Cost like 500 bucks to fix it, but never had that problem again.

I did same thing, changed dist. cap, checked cables, blah blah blah.
You need to find your nearest Honda/Acura specialist. (Don't goto the dealer IMHO).

damn i was hoping somebody knew what was wrong the whole point of posting this problem was to save a lot of money . im sure the specialists would love to rip me off again just like in the past. with a couple of other things.

if you dont want to go to a specialist buy a haynes or chilton manual and a circuit tester and you should ba able to figure it out on your own.

A ton! I have a haynes and I have a chiltons and they are no where near as in depth as this manual. These are the same manuals that the Honda and Acura dealerships use in their shops. The others will work but this is by far the best.

I'll second that its a nice manual. It's what I use for my teg, and it's way better than the Chilton one I had for my old GTI. I'd send you some scans, but the book is at my mom's house.

What exactlyt are you wanting scans of? There are 50 pages on the Manual tranny alone, not including the differential. About 40 of those pages are the internals. Here is a expanded view of the mainshaft and countershaft and everything else thatis inside the manual tranny. The first pic is full size and the second is resized.

Is there power going through the car? I mean any lights? It might be the ignition coil. I had a similar problem about 4 months ago...the car won't turn at all. It's rather easy to change the coil.
