Oil PressureMarkba 12-15-2004, 11:15 AM My oil pressure light came on. I have plenty of oil. I changed the oil and filter, no help. The lifters are clicking, I'm sure I've lost oil pressure. Is there a way to make absolutly sure that it is the oil pump before I change it. Thanks Willyum 12-15-2004, 01:34 PM With low or no oil pressure everything will be "clicking" pretty soon. You can locate the oil sending unit and attach a pressure guage to confirm no pressure. Is not a good idea to be running it at all until you fix it. Pumps don't usually up and fail, they die a slow death. Markba 12-15-2004, 04:12 PM I'f it's not he pump and the head gasket appears to be fine, what else could it be. It was possible that the engine was overfilled with oil by a quart or so prior to losing pressure. Thanks vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
