KustmAce 12-17-2004, 01:56 AM haha was that a van pullin on the track in the beginning? I think it was a Civic Si ridestreet84 12-17-2004, 09:56 AM the steering wheel looks like a type r wheel but no type r's where LHD psychorallyfreak 12-18-2004, 06:17 PM Impressive driving on his part. (WARNING: I'm not a Civic fan by any means) It just proves that you could be driving a shitbox, but if you're a good driver, you can keep up (not HANG) with the faster cars. 4-THGENH24LUDE 12-19-2004, 05:02 PM hey i have to give my props to the driver of the civic for the simple fact that the Lotus has a better gear box and suspension set up even after he (guy in civic) put money into the suspension anyway u put it the guy in the civic was agood driver and if u r readin this right now work on ur shifting it was quick but u cud probally do better crayzayjay 12-19-2004, 06:01 PM Please use some punctuation EnjukuRacing240sx 12-21-2004, 12:07 AM you should be extremely impressed with that civic... a lotus elise is in the top 3 for best handling cars in the world. fyi EnjukuRacing240sx 12-21-2004, 12:09 AM hey i have to give my props to the driver of the civic for the simple fact that the Lotus has a better gear box and suspension set up even after he (guy in civic) put money into the suspension anyway u put it the guy in the civic was agood driver and if u r readin this right now work on ur shifting it was quick but u cud probally do better and a little less caffine lol supra_mk3_89 12-21-2004, 12:16 AM ---------------------- Sparco gloves add 5+hp. ---------------------- RickwithaTbird 12-21-2004, 03:49 AM lol 4-THGENH24LUDE 12-21-2004, 02:53 PM you should be extremely impressed with that civic... a lotus elise is in the top 3 for best handling cars in the world. fyi i am pretty sure they aren't on the top three list but they are one of the best, and sorry for no punctuations and no i don't have any caffine in me lol clawhammer 12-24-2004, 08:51 PM absolutely loved it. Didn't think that a civic could hangle that well. Also, that was a great driver. gsr916 12-28-2004, 02:36 AM you dont need to downshift through all of the gears going into corners, nor do u need to hit the rev limiter for 2 seconds before shifting. nice shifting?? wtf???! Gohan Ryu 12-28-2004, 03:46 PM you dont need to downshift through all of the gears going into corners, nor do u need to hit the rev limiter for 2 seconds before shifting. nice shifting?? wtf???! Until you post some video of yourself beating this guy around a track, please STFU. TurboHead1 12-31-2004, 03:56 PM ^^^ Hahahahaha..... Uh-oh... But I agree, you don't have the right to criticize anyone else when you have no proof that you can do any better. (I'm not flaming anyone, just expressing my opinion) Master Hiko 01-11-2005, 03:10 PM you dont need to downshift through all of the gears going into corners, nor do u need to hit the rev limiter for 2 seconds before shifting. nice shifting?? wtf???! well since you cant seem to grasp that he is using engine braking as well, why he would i have no idea but that is what he was doing. he may have not been using heel and toe either so to keep the revs high, he hit 3rd and 2nd to keep the rpms up. as far as hitting the rev limiter, those were highspeed turns where of course you know the type r revs rather quickly. he may not have been too familiar with the course but often in RR, there comes a point when you HnT and have a choice to downshift and upshift to 3rd very very quickly or just stay in 3rd. its a type r so him keeping revs high instead of staying in 3rd was a good idea. higher rpms go by damn fast in R's and there are too many factors to show why he did it. it may not have been his car so he wasnt use to changing that quick if he went to second, or maybe he isnt use to the course and didnt know that staying in 3rd is sufficient. either way, he was no where near 2 secs on the rev limit and he was using engine braking/not HnTing..... JOO PHAILED! OCUJer 02-17-2005, 11:56 PM Elise top 3 in handling I'm a huge Elise/Exige fan but top 3 nah, not with the Merc/McLeran SLK, Enzo, and Zonda out there. Top Gear tested the Elise and it was impressive, I believe it made the top 10 (around 7 I think), but not top 3, it lacks HP and downforce. Granted if you put all 4 cars on a tight course it might fare better, but I still think it looses. The Elise driver needs some work through those "S" turns he was taking anything but the best line. With equal drivers in those cars the Elise wins, so yeah hats off to the Type R driver. Lamboholic 02-18-2005, 07:27 AM Don't forget Donkervoort D270 Which goes round the track faster then most supercars. (Like Enzo carrera gt) nbr1nthuzyst 02-20-2005, 06:34 PM Nice Video. Its addicting~lol good vid. nbr1nthuzyst 02-20-2005, 06:59 PM i have to agree about the whole rev limiter thing... i dunno what the problem was with stating his/her opinion about what was obvious... there is 1. a flashing yellow light telling you when to shift 2. the noise alone should tell you that its time to shift. Ya there isnt "proof" that i can do better, but i have my own word to go by, and that works for me!! ~dont be so quick to jump on poeple~ i dont doubt that even you could do better *if you know how to drive stick* MyFordProbeSucks 03-25-2005, 04:30 AM I'd say the Elise/Exige are still in the top three for handling in their areas (very tight corners). The Elise in this video probably had the narrower tires that Lotus started putting on, which explains this Elise driver's crappy line. Narrow tires = understeer = Honda Civic can keep up with you. xixtony 03-26-2005, 04:00 AM Vtec Vtec Vtec Vtec Vtec!!!!!!! shawnwilliams 04-05-2005, 12:16 AM Just flew by the rx-8 and how many times did they lap that miata? RandomTask 04-05-2005, 11:20 AM he seemed a little excited to be hanging with the elise, hence on his shifting. When your motor doesn't have a lot of torque, you have to rely on HP and as such, keep the revs way up. The motor definitely does not sound stock and I would be sure he has modified the suspension. He is hitting good lines, but the car seems really pushy. But decent driving none the less... http://www.silverstangs.com/autocross/Odu%20cart%201%20helmet%20cam.wmv vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
