My Stereo Sounds Like Crap. I'm Wanting To Change Out My Speakers But I Don't Know Which Ones Will Work. I'm Wanting To Keep My Original Stereo And Amp But Don't Know If They Are Good Or Bad.

I Want To Change Out The Speakers With A Good Speaker. I Don't Listen To The Radio Too Loud. Hopefully The Speakers Will Fit Right In Except I Don't Know Any Of The Sizes. I Have
2 Speakers In The Dash Which I Believe Are Tweeters
2 Speakers In The Front Doors
2 Speakers In The Back Doors
2 Speakers On A Bar And 2 I Believe Are Tweeters

I Would Like To Be Able To Take The Old Speaker Out And Put A New One In. Has Anyone Done This And If So Let Me Know A Good Speaker That Will Do This And The Price If Possible.
I Don't Know Alot About This Stuff So If You Could Tell Me How Many Ohms And If It Should Be Midrange Or 2-way And The Watts.

just take off your door panels and take measurements for the speakers.. i would reccomend kenwood for good quality but they aren't dirt cheap, if you're looking for an ok speaker at a low price dual is your brand

I would go with MB Quarts if you want the best quality. Kenwoods are ok, but there are many other brands that are better. I run an Audiobahn system in my Jeep, but I would not recommend their highs and mids. The doors are 6 1/2's, but may have different mounts on them. I would contact Crutchfield and ask them. I wouldn't buy from them, just ask them or look online. Look around at your local stores to see what you think sounds good. Then should be able to buy them and hook them up. You may need to cut off the factory harness connector to connect to your aftermarker speakers. I didn't have the infinity gold system in mine when I bought it, so I could be off. Best of luck to you and your quest ahead! hahaha

I have the infinity gold system and I think they are OK for the time being. like in the other thread I posted I am hooking up 2-12in subs, it will have nice high, mids, and lows. I did blow a frount speaker, but was still under warenty and it was fixed for free. I like the Polk momo's, but there is much better out there.

I just got the the converter so i can have RCA plugs. I called ABCwarehouse, and an installer guy said you can hook it up right from the amp under my back seat. I need a remote wire for my main amp to my subs, but I dont know what wire would be power for the stock amp. unless it was the "Constant 12V+ Red/White". I need to splice the two back speaker wires and hook them into this converter, and on the other side of the converter is the RCA plugs. "Left Rear (+) Brown/Yellow
Left Rear (-) Brown/Light Blue
Right Rear (+) Blue/White
Right Rear (-) Blue/Pink".. Right.

I am haveing some truble knowing what wires are for what. I am hooking this converter to the stock amp. All the speaker wires run to this. There are two power wires running to this too, 1 saposedly a Constant and the other a Switched, but they are both the same color and when i hook the remote wire up to eather one of them the new amp will turn on no matter if the key is turned or not. If someone could write back with the spasific wire color for the left and right " +,-" back speakers and a remote wire I would be thankfull.

I am hooking up my after market amp to my stock amp that is under the back seat. I dont know if thoriason is telling me the colors for the amp. I know there was not a red and grey, there was two red and whites. With the speaker wires I would just like to know what color is for the two back + and -.
Thanks

Most if not all of the Infinity stereos in our Jeeps operate on a 2ohm system. Most standard speakers use a 4 or 8 ohm system. Better off finding some OEM replacements or look on ebay.

Coordinating wires to amp/speakers

Wiring goes as follows: Speakers to Amp

Left Front (+) Green to Green/Red
Left Front (-) Brown/Red to Green/Black
Right Front (+) Purple/Yellow to Light Blue/Red
Right Front (-) Blue to Light Blue/Black

Left Rear (+) Brown/Yellow to White/Red
Left Rear (-) Brown/Light Blue to White/Black
Right Rear (+) Blue/White to Tan/Red
Right Rear (-) Blue/Pink or Blue/Orange to Tan/Black

These are the negatives and positives for both sides, should get you thru it all, any other questions, feel free to email me directly. Hope this helped....Later

I went to my local Best Buy, and they told me not to hook it up right to the stock amp, I ended up letting them do it for $30 and they had nothing else to do so they ended up mounting my amp and hidding all the wire for the same price. I looks and sound awsome.. U cant find a wire. Thanks for all the help everyone
