I hate whinersdjango 12-14-2004, 03:17 PM ...and my 92 Stanza engine is starting to whine on me. I just had the belts checked during my standard oil-change (at Jiffy Lube) and they said they were fine. What else causes that whining sound? Fuel pump? Old age? (has about 130,000 miles...) thanks stanza_rice 03-02-2005, 08:30 PM ok well i dunno much about engines or cars for that matter but i've heard "two" whining noises from my stanza. maybe it's the powersteering but if that's not it, check your exhaust manifold studs to see if any are missing. izzoaf 06-19-2005, 11:55 PM My Stanza has a 2.0 engine and the alternator was whining, mechanic thinks it was the bearing and recommended replacing the alt but when I had it checked out at the shop it checked good, will wait until it goes to spend the $95 for a new one. BoOCh_nse 12-01-2005, 12:53 AM could be a few things, open the hood and listen where its coming from. if you cant tell most parts stores will do basic testing and inspection to help you identify the problem, and you can always take it to a shop and get an estimate. that'll let you know whats wrong with it, maybe even things you didnt want to know lol. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
