2500HD battery looses charge / drainsMGSPENCER 12-14-2004, 07:27 AM My 2001 Silverado has developed a recent problem where if I let it sit for 2 days the battery will be to discharged and will not start the truck. I have the dual battery setup so I just jump from the aux battery and can start the truck but it is getting to be a pain. I have installed a new battery and that did not change anything. a side note is that this might have started after the dealer did some engine work (at 26,000 miles). The oil pump bypass failed and caused 2 lifters to fail and broke 2 pushrods and rockers. they of course removed the oil pan, intake and passenger valve cover but I can not find any pinched wires. HELP.... My brother has an 03 2500HD that was doing the same thing and it turned out to be the instument cluster in the dash. some how or another it something was wrong with it causing a slow drain of the battery. The dealer replaced the instument cluster and the problem was solved. Probably not what your problem is, But a possibility. gschretter 12-15-2004, 08:53 AM My brother has an 03 2500HD that was doing the same thing and it turned out to be the instument cluster in the dash. some how or another it something was wrong with it causing a slow drain of the battery. The dealer will probably want your left eye. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
