Warped Rotors

Drove through the mountains and used the brakes a bit much (dumb-a$$). Anyway, I need to have the rotors turned. Are the rotors on a 2003 the kind that you can pull off once the caliper is removed, or are they the kind with the bearings built?

Just want to know before I start dis-assembling.

The rotors are easy to remove when the calipers are off! This will at least apply to 2wd ventures made between 97 and 04 which all have identical rotors.

The rotors seems to be a weak part on these cars, brake pulsation is very common, at least were i live, according to the dealer!

you can get front brake rotors for $16 each, if u lived in the midwest area its about the same price for turning them so its better to get e new one.

After you remove the caliper you just tap on the rotor and it comes off. The wheel nuts actually hold the rotor in place. I pulled my calipers off my 98 venture to inspect them and lubricate the sliders, and the rotors were ready to fall off.
You shouldn't have much wear on them being you have a 2003 vehicle but check into pricing of new ones first. I live in Canada and to replace mine are $100 each.I will definitely have mine turned first. I am surprised at the difference compared to the mid west JHONG1226. $16 WOW!
I wonder what shipping would be from there! LOL
Anyway , they come off pretty easy. Good Luck

i forgot to mention that you can also get a set of aftermarket brakes(semi-metallic) here for $26 and these comes with lifetime warranty,if they wear down u can return em and get new ones.i know these vans eat a lot of brakes especially front ones so this would be a lot of help for venture owners.
