I was changing my air filter on my 2001 5.3L Tahoe and I noticed a screen attached to my MASS sensor. I was wondering if anybody has removed that screen to get more air flow, because I have seen some aftermarket MASS Sensors that do not have that screen.

Its not a MASS sensor! It is a MAF sensor (stands for Mass Air Flow)...many people believe you can increase performance by removing the screen..I have found just the opposite...The screen straightens out the air across the sensing element for a more exact reading..removing the screen can cause drivability concerns and a SES light.
