painted door handlesnineball481 12-12-2004, 05:18 PM I am looking for painted door handles from a suburban, tahoe, or denali. Does anyone know what the GM part number is for these? I will probably call the dealership tomorrow to see what they want for them. Or, if anyone knows a good place to pick some up cheap, it would be appreciated. Thanks everyone. What color blue is your truck? Is it Indigo or Arrival Blue? I got my escalade handles off of Ebay. The escalades are the painted ones with the chrome handle piece(see my sig pic). They are a gm product. Here is a link to the ones I have, only these are in a blue(not sure if it's the same blue as what you have) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7940036665&category=33642 If you want the solid painted ones, unless the part numbers have changed, these should be the ones you are looking for. Let me know if your truck isn't the indigo Blue. I can get you the part number. Indigo Blue (no chrome, all blue): 15015961 Front Left 15015962 Front Right I can get you any part number you need. Just let me know. jeverett 12-13-2004, 10:44 AM Hmm..I like those escalade handles. Nigel215 12-13-2004, 12:01 PM How about a painted grill shell? And yes, I like the handels as well....maybe eve the tailgate? Slowprocess 12-13-2004, 12:52 PM How about a painted grill shell? And yes, I like the handels as well....maybe eve the tailgate? Are you wanting the part number or suggesting him to get one? I can get the number for the grill shell, the handles, and the tailgate bezel/handle. Just let me know. chuck16 12-13-2004, 01:02 PM Not too sure if it would work or not but, couldn't you just take your exisisting door handles you have now off and paint them? Sand them down primer and paint them? Just a thought not too sure if the paint would stick properly either?? I just cheated and purchased those chrome overlays. Same look without all the hassles... jeverett 12-13-2004, 01:22 PM Cheap skate  Nigel215 12-13-2004, 01:22 PM Nah, i dont want the part number....Just interested in doin it someday. How much do you think it would cost for a painted shell? Or like Chuck said...can u just paint the factory one? nineball481 12-13-2004, 04:29 PM I called the dealership. They wanted $46 each. Then I went to a website: www.gmpartsdirect.com entered the part number. Their price was $27 each. Guess which one I chose. Any way thanks for the feedback everyone. I would recommend looking at the above address for other OEM parts before heading to the dealer. rrgopaul 12-13-2004, 04:52 PM here's a link I found, which is pretty helpful http://mywebpages.comcast.net/00gmc/gm_partnumbers.htm#ss TXAGG05 12-13-2004, 09:33 PM I want the air-dam off a Z71 Tahoe or suburban. Like myself. slacker_53 12-14-2004, 10:02 AM But what about the ones of us who can't paint? Like myself. Practice a little and take a chance........aw, come on. -slacker jeverett 12-14-2004, 11:11 AM It's not that I'm scared to, but I don't have the equipment that I need. Maybe my buddy will let me borrow his body shop for awhile. I have an old truck I can practice on. It's the one in my sig labeled "big toy". I wanna paint it "Lipstick pink" and call it the "flamingo" lol chuck16 12-14-2004, 12:02 PM You could just take the door handle off and Spray bomb it. As long as you found the right colour to match... broughy84 12-14-2004, 12:48 PM right, and even if you don't it will sand off and you can paint it gloss black. Slowprocess 12-14-2004, 12:50 PM I sanded, primed, and painted most of my interior accents black. It's a nice touch break up all the gray inside, and it gave me the opportunity to order the black leather racing seats I've been wanting. buttnekked 12-15-2004, 03:05 AM for those do it yourself newbies. I would suggest you try krylon fusion spray paints. They take to plastic very well and with minimal prep. If you want a different color then try the fusion as a primer and then paint over it with regular automotive paint. If you plan to do flexible parts such as fender flares etc... you will need to use paint with an additive to make it flex with the parts. nineball481 01-01-2005, 10:43 AM Hey do you guys know if you can get painted mirror covers insted of the chrome or black covers? If so do you maybe know what part number to ask for for the indigo (dark) blue color? For that matter can you get just the cover/cap or do you have to get a new mirror assembly? Im thinking that I want to get rid of as much of the chrome as I can and replace with paint matched counterparts. Any help will be appreciated. FYI- I received the handles from www.gmpartsdirect.com in great shape and in a timely fashion at about half the cost of the dealer. I would recommend this site to anyone looking for factory parts. Thanks agin everyone Nineball nineball481 01-08-2005, 06:02 PM ttt White Lightening 01-10-2005, 07:56 PM Greetings, My truck is essentially a 2004 SS except its rear wheel drive and its white. I'm thinking of doing some "monochroming" like the SS has - by painting door handles, mirrors, and front and rear bumper plastics all gloss white. At present I don't have fender flares - but thinking that maybe a possible step also (again to do gloss white). 1. 2005 fender flares seem to come color matched and smooth from what I've seen - while 2003 and 2004 flares all came black and stippled from what I've seen. Will smooth 2005 flares fit my 2004 1500 Silverado? 2. Can fender flares be purchased in the gloss white or must they be painted? 3. To paint the mirrors, handles, and front and rear black bumber plastics - what is the process for removal? Snap connectors? Inside screws? ???? 4. Can all the above items in #2 and #3 be straight primed and painted - or will elastic addive be required? Thanks for any responses or suggestions. P.S. Fender flares on 2005 seem to be both clip/screw AND double back taped. Is there any added rusting or paint wear problems from adding fender flares? Check out this site for removal and replacement of both the mirrors and the door handles. It has fully detailed instructions and it's what I used to change out my handles. Very informative. Just check out the installation section. http://www.jsmithlm7.com/silverado/ White Lightening 01-11-2005, 02:17 PM Hey, man. I like to help out when and where I can. I'll get some info on those flairs for you. red00lght 01-11-2005, 07:48 PM I bought my escalade handles off of ebay. I have a black 99 and at first I went with the painted black piece and chrome handle, but today I put on an all-black handle assembly and I think I'm going to go with that. I'm pretty much getting rid of all the chrome on the truck for a sporty SS type look. Next up is the SS bumper and a roll pan. I'll try and post pics if I ever get it done! BlenderWizard 06-06-2005, 07:33 PM One, where'd u get the paint? And two, how can you tell if, when ordering door handles from GMpartsdirect, both sides will have the keyhole? TexasF355F1 06-06-2005, 08:33 PM This threads from back in January. BlenderWizard 06-06-2005, 08:37 PM Gee, it is? I'm sorry, I can't read :screwy: I know it's from friggin' January, but I have a question pertaining to this, is that ok? sportin83 06-06-2005, 08:59 PM i cant help you on the keyhole thing but i got my paint from advanced auto and autozone. they have a book tells you what color they put on each year vehicle and i did my doorhandles and when i get time i am doing my mirrors. i sanded them smooth then painted 3 or 4 good coats. and then i cleared them 3 or 4 coats. i hope this helps. check my sig u can see them. nineball481 06-07-2005, 12:03 AM the part numbers quoted by slowprocess are the correct numbers for the blue. But if you want to be sure call up the dealer and ask for the part number from a suburban, tahoe ect... in your color. I got mine from gmpartsdirect at about half the cost from the dealer! benzero 06-30-2005, 03:04 PM was this just done with touch up paint? sportin83 06-30-2005, 10:50 PM i guess it is called touch up paint. it comes in a aerosol can and if your lucky they have the book that tells your paint code and you can get the match. benzero 07-01-2005, 08:53 AM cool. new project for the weekend. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
