I have a 1990 Buick lesabre (great car till late) went to start it, have dash lights, but wont crank at all, even tried to cross starter connections to see if i could by pass, no luck dont know where to start and weather there is a main fuse that has to be checked. Was wondering is anyone had this type of problem. Thanks in advance

Sounds as if the starter may have died.

Buick Master,
Thanks for the fast reply, but you mentioned it could be the starter, now could it be that even if i am not getting that ever so familiar click sound, all i hear is the fuel pump engaging and then when i turn the key nothing at all, my guess is if it is that then the starter is really gone and the selonoid isn't doing its job anymore and it wont do a thing. I am going to drop the starter and see if it is the starter AGAIN (4th one in two years) thankfully this is still under warranty as its new and not a rebuilt and i only installed it in June. I will let you know thanks for the help.

You have been having started prblem before? What (were you told) was the problem then? What was it doing? 4 starters in two years. Wow.

Well Buickmastermind there have been a few starters installed in this car i have installed them myself and was told that the supplier of the starter (rebuilder) has a bad reputation ( i guess you get what you pay for) anyway i decided to go new and eliminate the problem for good so i am suprised to hear that the starter is probably done for. Like i said before at least it is under warranty so maybe its just bad luck but it wont cost anything to get another new one. Is ther a way to test to make sure it is the starter like dropping it out and adding power to it see if it winds out?
