Just got one!hayesbcajh 12-07-2004, 09:44 AM Just picked up my Aveo on Saturday. Got the 4dr sedan, 5spd, Special Value package. Really wanted the hatchback but they had the leftover 04 sedan in stock with a great rebate. Wow! What a great little car. Especially for the price. I'm 6'3" and I fit great (need a tad more height adjustment on the driver seat but not bad). Even with my wife and 2 kids in car seats. The trunk is just as big or even bigger than in the Sunfire I used to drive. Plus the hinges probably won't crush the cargo. It's quiet. Looks sharp. Acceleration is quite surprising. Fit and finish is amazing for a vehicle priced like this. You get the feeling you're driving a much more expensive car. It has a remote trunk release and fuel filler door. Bottom line is, not counting the trade I had, the sticker price was 9,995 with a 1,500 rebate. That's 8,500 for a brand new car. Plus, currently this is the only vehicle that Chevy offers a 5yr/60,000 mi warranty on. G35XAndTrailBlazer 12-30-2004, 11:33 PM Dude, if you had a Sunfire, and your talking about your Aveo driving like a more expensive car. Go jump in your Aveo, drive it around, then jump in like a Accord or somthing, and you will see. The Aveo will be great till it hits you with your family on your way to church, and you all die because the car crumples like a tin can. Just my 2cents. I think you sohuld trade in an lease a Civic or somthing. Your driving a Daewoo. hayesbcajh 01-03-2005, 08:51 AM I don't have the money to go jump into an Accord. Duh! The bottom line is...anyone who is willing to accept the shortcomings of a car in this class will likely be surprised and pleased by the Aveo. It's not a debate on what is better or safer. parky 01-06-2005, 06:49 AM I don't have the money to go jump into an Accord. Duh! I agree with you, people are always saying that you should have bought a higher priced car to get more luxury. But for the MONEY the Aveo is an excellent value and car. Sure there are fancier cars out there that have the same things as the Aveo, but you are paying more to get the same things you have in your car already. Having had a Geo Metro and loving it, this car is so much more for the money in size (interior) power and accessories included in Base model. For the money you can't beat the Aveo, other cars cost more and give you less in comfort or value for the dollar. acemech129 01-06-2005, 07:02 PM if your buying a car just for safety, go buy a volvo. besides i dont think the government would allow them to be sold if they didnt meet safety ratings. My two cents. RedAveo 02-06-2005, 10:12 PM if your buying a car just for safety, go buy a volvo. besides i dont think the government would allow them to be sold if they didnt meet safety ratings. My two cents. Actually this car was rated very good for crash testing. I believe 5 stars slacker_53 02-10-2005, 01:34 PM You could take your same 10 grand and buy a year old Century, Impala, Alero, Grand Am, Taurus or a host of other models and get waaaaay more for your money, in my opinion. I don't care if it is 'new' and has a 60,000 mile/5 year warranty. These Aveo's are a disposable car, use it then toss it. Trade in value is nil. With the power windows, locks, keyless entry, ABS, power sunroof, AM/FM cd/MPS, heated power mirrors, and goes two weeks for me on 13 gallons. It allows me to leave my 2500HD in the driveway and salt free. If any of that crap breaks it not my dollar for 3 years. I can't fault someone for using their head and saving a buck for whatever reason. I do laugh when I look at ours though, and the view of the car next to the truck is to funny, but I am laughing all the way to the bank! RedAveo 02-12-2005, 10:15 PM I don't know. Besides, My last disposable new car cost me 8 grand in 1990 and I just sold it to a Kid 15 years later for 200 bucks. That Nissan Sentra was the most trouble free car I have ever owned. Could I have gotten one for anywhere near the Aveo price, that would have been my first choice. To each his/her own. Rock On! redrage 02-15-2005, 10:31 PM I have a 2004 Aveo for 8 months 13000 miles......nothing but problems.....fuel sensor went in 1st 1500 miles, was replace for free, the seatbelt recall, I got 5 cracks in the windhsield in 6 weeks, they said rock chips, but nothing ever hit me.....25 years of driving and I never had 1 rock chip, but suddenly I get 5......after the 3rd one I lowered my comprehensive to 0 knowing I would get a new crack. 3 days later it happened. The dealer did not want to believe there was a possibilty of a defective product and just 2 days ago.....my car was spitting and sputtering like something was in the gas line.....I just made it to the dealer and today they told me it was the intake and exhaust valves........Yeah they can fix it, but this is just downright crap......The dealership here in Rapid City has ben real god to me, I bought it on the other side of the state......i told the manager today the onyl option was taking this car back, I did not want a replacement and not an Aveo....A friend of my daughters bought one from the same dealership and is also having problems What I want to ask if somebody knows something about mechanic, how serious is the intake and exhaust valves.....If i had to pay for it, I think they told me it would be a couple of thousand........ Stuff like this should not be happening, hopefully they will make it right vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
