1999 GC Laredo - Won't start

I have a 1999 Grand Cherokee Laredo. Was driving just fine, came home, shut it off, about an hour or so later went to leave again and it wouldn't start. The mechanic thought maybe it was the fuel pump, but after checking further, it is working. They have hooked it up to machines, and things seem to be 'connecting' but they aren't getting fuel or spark. When the key is turned on, lights, overhead computer, etc all work, but the gas gauge won't register anything, and it doesn't turn over. Any ideas???

Did they do a fuel pressure test? You said it doesent turn over, is the battery up to charge. Make sure the Battery Terminals are clean and tight. It sounds like it could be a Crankshaft Position Sensor to keep it from getting a no start. Check the relays and fuses in the Distribution center under hood. Also check the voltage to the fuel pump at the pump harness connection being that the gas guage doesnt register.

I'm the owner of the Jeep (& original thread), told the mechanic about this website, and how to log in to 'chat' with everyone about the Jeep. I told them about the Crank Shaft Sensor, and they said it was that.... long story short, just over three months later, them going through EVERYTHING on my Jeep (without checking the CSS), they finally sent it to another place.... It WAS the Crank Shaft Sensor!!!!!!!!!! Dunno if they just didn't want to listen to 'a girl', but for anyone reading the string on this..... obviously the people on here know what they are talking about, so TRY what they think it is! :) You'll save yourself a lot of time and money!! :)

THANK YOU to everyone that helped out! :)

Sounds like the cps or the pcm. Better hope it's the CPS, it may be harder to replace than the pcm, it sure is cheaper.
