well i have come to realize that i have invested in the wrong kind of car

i bought my 1990 chevy lumina last novemeber(2003) for $1600 cdn.... it has been a very reliable car .... and now i cant even sell the thing for $800 cdn,.... i really want to know why that is? are this cars really that bad? i just did a tune up on it not long ago and the only thing i can really notice that the car needs are the brakes and also the rotors turned.....wtf? no one wants to even pay 800buxs for a winter beater,,,, thats pretty sad

How many miles are on the car, what condition is the body in? $1600 seems a little high. I payed $850 for my 96 this past summer. Granted the car had 200k on it and needed a new blinker switch, but the car was in good condition and has been great so far. Have you checked NADA or Kelley? People are probably buying 4x4 trucks right now too for the winter.

Perhaps you could try placing an ad in autotrader, that usually sells stuff pretty quick and it's cheap!

Well the car has 245 kms and runs good the body has no rust but has a dent in the drivers side fender from a foot....lol............ and most 1990 lumina's in the buy and sell out here go from 1800-2600 cdn....keep in mind this is cdn money...not sure where u live but here that is the going rate...... i just want 800bucks for the thing and i would be happy.....

Yup. Resale sux on these, though you're right, anything that runs and can pass inspection should be worth at least a grand easy. My '97, in great condition, with 116K , evrything works perfect, only worth about 2K KBB, if that. Screw it, I'll drive it 'till the wheels fall off.
