raced a F150eclipse_gs 03-01-2002, 05:10 PM Raced a F150 on the freeway last night, I thought it was goign to be a tough race but it wasn't. I had him beat, hit 120 then backed off, I had him beat like 2 car lenths I guess they can't go pass 100. Well a kills a kill.....:finger: PFCfutrell 03-01-2002, 05:18 PM was it a V6 or a V8? If it was the V8 was it a 4.6 or a 5.4? They're not fast either way but if I were driving a F150 i don't think i'd WANT to go over 100mph. Whatever... nice kill i guess. eclipse_gs 03-01-2002, 05:54 PM it was a v8 extended cab, so i guess it was the 5.4. but i know it wasn't the v6. He took his up to about 110. PFCfutrell 03-02-2002, 07:49 AM Beware some trucks, the Tundra's are pretty quick, I allmost lost to a V8 Tundra which I found out later runs high 15's I believe. My car runs about a 16 flat so I think it was me getting a better launch that decided that victory. I wouldn't race a Lightning, Syclone, or 5.9 Dakota though, they're wicked fast, and as far as SUV's go don't mess with the 5.9 Jeep Grand Cherokee's or the GMC Typhoon, they can embarass a lot of imports. jOYRiDe 03-02-2002, 07:56 AM whats to be embarassed about? youre only a 4banger and they got big block v8's...u should be proud u can hang (maybe not :D) with them big boys toys PFCfutrell 03-02-2002, 08:02 AM They may have twice the cylinders but they also have twice the weight to haul around. SUV's are generally designed to carry people and cargo, tow a jet-ski, shit like that. They're not designed (generally) to be "sporty", so when a "sporty" car gets beat by an SUV or truck it's kind of embarassing. The GMC Typhoon/Syclone and the Ford Lightning really don't have any business calling themselves trucks/SUV's being that they have virtually no utillity other than going fast in a straight line, no real payload or towing capacity but they're fast as shit. kidrocket 03-02-2002, 11:37 AM the dakota r/t is a high 15 second truck too. ive beaten them eclipse_gs 03-02-2002, 12:43 PM Ok, I'm having alittle problem about chosing my next car. I've been hearing so much about the Civic Si and I know that it runs mid 15's. What does an Integra GSR run? Well my question is should I get a civic si or an integra gsr? jOYRiDe 03-02-2002, 01:58 PM Originally posted by PFCfutrell They may have twice the cylinders but they also have twice the weight to haul around. They're pretty quick stock and take well to modifications. SickLude 03-02-2002, 11:29 PM On a lighter note...I want a Lightning SOOOOO bad!! tenzoracerevovii 03-05-2002, 09:17 PM lightning's are sweeet......also, i never heard of a cyclone until not long ago when i found a video clip of a cyclone hanging with a twin turbo sc300........that was tight...... onesojourner 03-05-2002, 11:50 PM my dad has a trailblazer its got a 270hp 6er i dont think i would even try with me lil 125hp:( LjasonL 03-06-2002, 04:48 AM i saw 2 dakota r/t's at the dragstrip 2 weekends ago. i thought they were supposed to be fast??? i wasnt impressed at all. maybe it was just the drivers of the 2? they were both running mid 13's (track is only 1000ft long, thats about a mid-high 15 in the 1/4) while i was hitting 13.1s when i still couldnt get a good run in. everybody always told me id get whooped by an r/t but now i wanna race one :D kidrocket 03-06-2002, 11:55 AM dakota r/ts have a rating of 250hp. thats not so much when it comes to a "muscle pickup truck". they run high 15s stock a trailblazer is pretty quick for an SUV i think it is also a high 15 second vehicle vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
