I need to know how to get the steering coloum off of my 89' S-15 Jimmy I got the steering wheel off but I can't get the bracket that holds the steering wheel on. What I'm trying to get to is the turn signal switch.

I'll bump this up, I'm having the same problem, but mine's with the windshield washer switch. You just can't seem to get that one bracket off.

To get the column out, underneath the kick panel you will see a 15mm nut on either side of the colum that's on a bracket. Remove those, then remove the 3 13mm bolts at the fireall. Disconnect the intermediate shaft at the top (12mm bolt) disconnect all harness' underneath the dash attached to the column, then pull out.
