I keep seeing info on here about dont use fram oil filters. Whats up and what happened? What kind of test have been run to prove they are that bad? I run napa gold filters, but just wondered whats up with the other filters and what kind of test have been run. I figured they were pretty much all the same. Just paying for the name and their ads.

What I have been told is that they are just cheaply made, use cardboard products for the filter and stuff like that.

Just what I know

I have used Purolator filters, ac delco and fram, and to be honest i have not seen much difference, I feel that as long as you keep your oil changes regular there should be a big problem, I personaly prefer purolator.

Fram oil filters use cardboard on either end of their filters instead of metal on all the others.

This causes the internal filter to warp which breaks the seal and allows unfilters oil back into the block.

Just plain poor ass engineering. Worst oil filter on the block.
