broken bov?97GSTspyder 12-03-2004, 07:03 AM i have a hks ssq, and a few weeks ago, i was in 4th gear and accelerated a bit, hit like 10psi and heared BOOM and had no throttle....came to a stop and the car stalled....found out that my bov blew off the UICP somehow and smacked the hood (and i made sure prior to that, that it was definitely seated and tightened)...anyway, i noticed tonight when i took my bov off, and move it from side to side, there is a small rattle in it...like if i move it to one side, it sounds like something is hitting something, and so on....my bov still works, but i noticed that when i'm boosting low, i have the same bov sound and not the different sound i had before. before when i boosted low and let off the throttle, it made a different sound than a high boost...could the second valve in this thing be bad? also, is it fixable? can you take these things apart and work on them? thanks for the help Igovert500 12-03-2004, 01:17 PM What you described would be my guess as well...I know I've seen a site somewhere, where they took one apart...lemme do some searching. dsmodder 12-03-2004, 02:35 PM pretty sure you cant take them apart. all that comes off is the cover 97GSTspyder 12-03-2004, 08:19 PM thanks...it'd be great if you found the website cause i've searched all over 97_3clipse 12-03-2004, 08:38 PM sounds like a spring came out of place or somthing is wrong with the diafram.... 97GSTspyder 12-04-2004, 08:38 AM ok i took the bov back off to take a closer look....the clicking i was explaing was the little valve you can see when you look up through the bottom of the bov...the rod is purple and on it, is a little black thing that moves back and forth making the click sound....is this normal? BoostedSpyder 12-04-2004, 06:26 PM HMMM.... BOV blows off and smacks the hood... might be time for a GReddy type-s... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
