Front Stabalizer Bar, Is This Normal?

I recently replaced my front stabalizer bar bushings (on the frame) & I noticed that the stabalizer bar has been making contact with the frame.

I noticed this on the drivers side & the bushing was alot more worn than the one on the passenger side!

There is a noticeable silver mark where the stabalizer bar has been making contact with the frame.

Is this normal wear for GC's? I have no lift or similar modifications!

No, that's not normal. I have a 95 with 190,000 miles. Just replaced the stabilizer bushings....and they didn't look that bad. You may want to look at the stabilizer bar links . They tie the bar to the stearing. Mine were toast. The link bushings were real bad and replacing them made a world of difference in the stearing and road feel.

So the new bushing fixed it so that it's not rubbing, right? Did you use polyurethane bushings? As a supplement to the above recommendation that you replace the links, I would agree and strongly recommend that you do not buy the OEM ones from Chrysler. They have rubber bushings which flex and will ultimately rot over time. JKS makes aftermarket sway-bar links (called quicker disconnects) which utilize hard plastic ball-joints with grease nipples on each end. They have removal pins to allow you to disconnect the sway-bar for off-roading so that your front axle can articulate and keep the tires on the ground for improved traction. They're very well build and cost around $130 which is what the OEM ones cost I think.

It probably is my stabalizer bar links causing this rubbing, I know its time to replace them, I even had a post on here a few weeks ago about the quick disconnects (seeking opinions).

I also noticed the stabalizer bar link on my driver side squeaks sometimes when I get into & out of the jeep, this is the same side that I noticed the rubbing! Besides, the bushings on the lower ends of my liniks do look distorted.

I think I will get a pair from JKS.
