Can anyone tell me if the 96 roof panel will fit a 95 sl2?

I have a 96 sl2 parts car with a great headliner, but it is totalled I have already swaped motors.

The 95 has a great body not a scratch, but the interior is shot. The headliner is hanging. Unfortunately the 96 has a sun roof, so I was considering swaping the entire roof panel. I figure I get a sunroof that way too.

I also plan on swapping the carpets, and seats. unfortunately I don't think I can swap the door panels because the 95 had power windows.

I would appreciate any insight. Hoping someone else has done this before.

Thanks.

i haven't done it before but i think the headliner will be no problem, the roof maybe, IIRC the 2nd gen roof is curved a little more, but you may beable to cut a hole in the 95 roof

Thanks for the input. I parked the two vehichles side by side and discovered that the roofs are different. I don't want to cut a hole in the roof of the 95 since I am not have any leaking problems right now, but I have gutted the entire interior including the headliner. I am hoping to salvage the 95 headliner by removing the fabric and using new glue. This is sketchy at best since removing the old fabric will most likely stretch it. I may just have to suck it up and go to the junk yard.

on a more positive note, it appears that the seats and carpets will fit from the 96 to the 95. I am going to end up with a 95 sl2 with 55k on a 96 engine and running gear, along with an immaculate 96 interior, sweet body and all for the tune of $241(95 w/good body, bad motor/interior) + battery, power steering fluid, oil, alignment and maybe a headliner. I think I can complete it for less than $500. The 96 was a free donor car (totaled, hit in the nose and the rear).

thanks again,
