hello all i am a new member to the jeep forums i recently sold my 3kgt and got me a 98 jeep grand cherokee limited. I have one question what is a good air filter for this car? I am getting about 16mpg right now and want to get the most miles out of my fuel and money.

People seem to have good luck with the K&N FIPK.

Ebay. For a cheaper route you can just make you own with a 3" piece of PVC or some people use exhaust pipe and then add a cone filter on the end. But it's my understanding that it's the piece(pretty flat so it doen't hit the hood) that connects to the throttle body that's the main restriction.

Try searching "K&N Jeep" on e-bay. There are several listings for air intakes with K&N filters for under $100. If you go with a cheaper filter you can get one for 40-50. (the intakes are not made by K&N, but look like they serve the same purpose).

Its funny because K&N advertises the jeep as the bigest gainer from its filters so its probably not a bad idea. Since your only going to have it for the winter I say go with the generic 9", I think they actually fit onto our cars (ohh wait we both just sold ours heh) because I believe they have the same diamiter so you'd be set for when you get the 3000.
