Blower Motor Only Works On High

I have a 1998 SL1 and a couple of weeks ago the blower motor started only working on high. The first three settings do not work at all.

I am thinking one of the resistors has gone in the resistor pack as I have checked all fuses I could find as well as the relay that controls the HVAC system.

Could someone please tell me where the resistor pack is located on this model?

Thanks in advance,

Sam

under the defroster duct, the Haynes repair manual has a real nice picture of it(available at many better auto part stores for under $20)

Thanks very much for the reply. Much appreciated.

Being a student, I am trying to avoid buying a service manual for this one issue.

Any additional info you can provide on how to locate this puppy would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

trust me, that book is a god send, and for under 20, its very much worth it. you will use it again.

any way-
1. find two small clips on the top of the dash, pop them off with a flathead screw driver. remove the bolts underneth.
2. use a flat head screw driver to pry up on the top cover of the dash, do the side oppoisite of the windsheild. after that end is up. pull it towards you. the clips near the windsheild should just pop out(but are a pain to get back in)
3. there may be a pad there, remove it too.
4. remove the defroster duct
5. find the blower resistor, it has a 4-wire connecter and should be located to a air duct or the blower motor
