Make sure your PCV valve is functioning...should be fairly clean inside and rattle. Costs about $3.

I don't know this engine...do you have a Haynes/Chilton on it?

Your increased pressure could be...

One of the crankcase breathers is clogged. Some engines have a front and rear...the PCV tube can act as one. Like in my 93 1.9L...the PCV has a sponge filter inside the air filter housing.

A lot of gunk inside the valve cover.

Clogged oil passages in the cylinder head.

I'd change the PCV valve and make the hose/tube is clean. Then run 1 or 2 quarts of "crankcase cleaner" thru it with fresh oil/filter changes on each session...I think it's called "gunk out" or some such at Autozone for ~$3 a quart. (I don't know Seafoam...this may be similar). I've heard stories of people using "Gunk OUT" and having so much crappola, it wouldn't come out the drain hole and they had to remove the oil pan....which wouldn't be a bad idea.
