I recently bought a new alpine head unit and would like to know a little about getting the old one out before trying to do it without knowing anything. If anyone knows how, the help would be appreciated...I really don't want to ruin anything.

Thanks in advance,
-Shawn

OK, well car audio is one of my main expertise, what year and make is your jeep, they all are a lil similiar stereo wise, and the jeeps are all easy to swap out head unit wise, email me if you want. brischaefer01@aol.com. Brian

Car Audio/Entertainment is my expertise too (if my user name didn't give that away). You need to get an adapter kit if you don't already have one. I also recommend an adapter wiring harness too so you don't have to cut into the factory wiring harness.
On my 97 JGC you have to pull of two trim pieces and remove like 8 screws and pull out the plastic covering to your dash. Then there are 4 screw that hold in the factory unit. Disconnect the antenna and the factory wiring harness and just follow your instructions on the kit and the Alpine wiring hook ups. If you have the wiring harness adapter kit, you should be able to hook up the same wire colors to the back of your new deck. Then connect all back together and resecure it with the screws and your done.
