renault laguna losing power

I have a renault Laguna that loses power when it gets to temperature
then cuts out ????
leave it for One hour and it will start perfectly
Please help ...anyone
Don't want to bring it to the dealership as it would cost more than the car is worth

if you could post up somemore details on the car i may be able to help i.e age milage and when last serviced
