1991 lumina won't start

my 1991 lumina euro 3.1 won't start and i am not sure what the problem is. it was running fine and then it got cold and now it is dead. the battery is fine. the car will turn over but it won't catch. i don't know very much about cars. my boyfriend says that it isn't getting a spark.. can anyone give me any advice on what the problem could be...thanks i need some advice asap....i need my car...am stranded at a friend's house and want to go home

The ignition module (under the coil packs) or crank position sensor (low, in the engine block) are most likely, if it is getting no spark.

hey have you checked all your fuses sometimes it could just be something that little but i agree with the other person probly ignition module which also controls the fuel injectors

well i took the lumina to the shop and it is the crank sensor...thanks...expensive little piece though

if you ever have a similar problem, the part is only $20 or less retail, and comes out with 1-8mm bolt. It's on the back of the engine, and takes about 20 minutes to replace. I hope the shop didn't hose you too bad, I hate it when garages take advantage of women.

Yeah, it does on those. Not sure about "controls" them, but they won't operate without a signal from it.
