When accelerating, let's say on a highway on-ramp, when I hammer down while going at 40-50 MPH to really pick up needed speed, the Jeep wants to hesitate or stutter, what do you think? I don't think it's the transmission slipping, although it sorda acts like it...Throttle Position Sensor?

i have a 94 gc limited , 4x4 bought in july, it s always had a slow take off sluggish response , I changed every sensor I could find , and kept the old as spares , the trans was recently rebuilt, but the problem still persists , the next and last attempt to fix it is to get the computer flashed at the dealer , since it s 11 years old , must be about time for it ..

Sensor change and still no fix...Hope I have better luck. This isn't what I would call sluggish response...it feels like the tranny is going to drop onto the road. I'm starting to think this is a typical issue with the JGC's. It only happens when I punch the pedal to the floor, like the gears can't catch up to the demand in-time. Maybe when I was younger and could afford the tickets this issue would be devastating, right now it's more of a safety issue than anything.
It's a in line 6 cylinder with 140K.

Nick- specifically what are you talking about? The transmission pan gasket and what else?

Intake Manifold and Belly pan. there is a TSB about changing the Intake and PLenum pan gasket because it leaks and causes poor performance, this also causes a rough idle.
Sorry I don't remember the exact TSB #.and I don't remember what the exact symptoms were either but I will search and get back to your.

an egr valve opening to soon will also cause the stumble, You can try unplugging the egr vacum line and plug it to see if it makes an difference. Sometimes the vacum transducer before the egr will not bleed off and cause the egr to open to soon
