hey guys! I need some help....My automatic transmission is behaving in a weired way. I can shift manually from 1-2-3. However, when I put the car in D, it doesn't go into 4th gear. Reverse and neutral works fine. I can put the car from Neutral to D and it will go up to speeds of 80-90kms/hr with an RPM of 3000 to 3500.
My car was fine till I took it to a VW dealer to check my shifting and he just checked codes for me. After that it wouldn't get into my 4th gear. Mechanics are saying that it is an electrical problem. Is there a way that I can reset something on the tranny(connectors)?? I need some urgent help...........Thanks!

Were there any codes when they checked? Yes there were a couple...a ground conenction problem, oxygen sensor and couple of other sensors. The VW mechanic was telling me that they could all be the result of a faulty wiring(ground). But the thing that does not make sense to me is that the car was perfectly fine working in 4th gear till he touched some wires in the front and checked the codes?? He didn't take anything out but something must have caused it to behave like the way it is....seems like it is in Limp modeee right now!!

Yes it could be in limp mode, the best place to start is to find out what those codes were exactly & with them.
