courtesy lights draing battery?

I have a 97 JGC with an open circuit draining the battery after sitting for a few days. I actually have isolated the wire(purple one in tan connector) that is causing the drain after much head banging. When I disconncted this wire from the front of the fuse panel the courtesy lights stopped working when the doors open or use the dash switch, but work when you turn them on at actual light. I also lost the dash lights. Anyone know what component this purple wire goes to? Iam thinking maybe the automatic timer/dimmer? And where would it be located? any and all thoughts greatly appreciated.

well I dunno about the switch (or wire) but Jeeps have a key draw and after 5 days or so of not being started the abttery will die. this is normal, I am not sure why they have it.
