hello everyone,,i'm looking for everyones opinion..about 8 months ago my 95' aurora was running rough and stuttering during acceleration..it was not accelerating smooth.it turned out to be the fuel pump..after replacing the fuel pump the vehicle ran like new again..the other day the vehicle began doing the exact same thing, running as if the engine was starving for gas, sputtering during acceleration..i guess my question is has anyone else had frequent problems with the fuel pump or needed to replace one so soon..both times this happened i was driving in very wet rainy weather..i had the fuel pump replaced at the local garage,as i said about 8 months ago..if it turns out to be the fuel pump again i'd rather replace my self then pay a garage again..is it posible the fuel pump could be shot again after only 8 months..i'm about 99% sure this again is a fuel related problem..one other thing i should also mention..i had the fuel rail replaced about six weeks ago at a local gm dealership..they ended up having the car almost the entire day because after replacing the rail they got dirt or something in the fuel injectors and the said it was running extremely rough.after adding cleaners and blowing the injectors out it ran fine again..i don't think this is related to the current problem but not 100% sure...thanks everyone

Well, I don't know a lot regarding fuel problems, but any work done by your local garage should come with some type of warranty. Usually, the warranty is for 12 months and covers all parts and labor.

If the work performed is indeed under warranty, then swing by and have them replace the fuel pump again. Sometimes new parts fail. It doesn't hurt to ask. It'll only cost you some fuel to drive to the garage. :)

I hope that helps.

Do you ever let your fuel level go below 1/4 full? I used to let my fuel get extremely low and wound up burning up my fuel pump. The pump needs the gas to act as a lubricant/coolant. Also have you changed your fuel filter?

i've heard of the same thing golflinks mentions on other cars... i never let mine go below 1/2 tank.

i think the fuel filter was replaced when i had the recall done..on 95's they had to replace the fuel rail and fuel lines..as far as letting the tank get close to empty, not very often..although at times i drive to quarter tank..?? i might try and replace the filter again and see what happens.
