I just had an accident to the front driver side that snapped my tie rod. I had it fixed but the rim was screwed so I had the mechanic put on a spare rim and tire that I had, but the tire was bigger than the rest of the tires. So stupidly I drove on it for about 5 days and finally found the time to switch it to the back atleast. When I was driving on it the wheel would make popping sounds when I turned and now it doesn't do it as often as before. I felt the axle boot and could move it around. I am wondering if I should just take a loss on the 4 wheel drive or if there is a relatively easy fix for the problem. More over just what exactly the problem is.

it sounds like the CV was damaged from the accident as well.

Best way is to Jack it up with jack Stands of course and see if it bad. Not that expensive of a fix, got both of my axles for 170. Check the hub while your at it it can make the same sound.
