NorthStar?Black Bullet 11-22-2004, 04:25 PM Question...I recently bought a 98 Aurora Cause I loved them so much..So I bought the most suped up one I could find..I heard the have the northstar engine in them but I'm not sure if mine has one..The guy I Bought it from says it does but it doesn't say so on the engine cover..Is it suppose too? Or do they all have the northstar in it? Indy8 11-22-2004, 04:34 PM All 1999 and earlier had 4.0 litre, 32 valve, dual over-head cam, all aluminum V-8 with the Northstar engine management system. What exactly do you mean by "souped up"? That may not be good. Black Bullet 11-23-2004, 09:01 AM thanx that was wrecking my brain..Suped up as in extra options like wood grain chrome pipes and wheels and all features dred98 11-23-2004, 09:06 AM Most of the "extra options" were standard on the Classic Aurora - there wasn't many additional extras you could get. The important ones are the autobahn and the moon roof. Black Bullet 11-23-2004, 09:10 AM Now autobaun what's that?..Don't think I have that is it something with the engine? dred98 11-23-2004, 09:12 AM Check the page here, there's a description of the autobahn and how to tell if you have it. http://home.achilles.net/~howardm/aurora/underhood.php Black Bullet 11-23-2004, 09:15 AM Thanx Dred LesGrandsPieds 12-19-2004, 04:15 AM Yup, the baby Northstar, as my mechanic likes to call it. He used to work on them for a living in Cadillacs and he swears that the Aurora almost the exact same stuff as the STS, SLS, or DeVille. jagchick 12-20-2004, 02:47 AM I have a Kelley Blue Book for 98 and the only options offered are: Autobahn (tires & 3.71 axle ratio) Gold Graphics Moon Roof Engine Bock Heater (plugs in to home outlet) 12-Disc Radio Bose System Heated Seats Chrome Wheels Everything else in standard and naturally souped up! Oh and the starting price in 98?...$35,960. Enjoy that car. dred98 12-20-2004, 05:58 PM White diamond paint was another extra cost option, . . . and the heated seats and the block heater were standard in the Canadian model. kayaman420 12-21-2004, 11:44 AM Yup, the baby Northstar, as my mechanic likes to call it. He used to work on them for a living in Cadillacs and he swears that the Aurora almost the exact same stuff as the STS, SLS, or DeVille. They are the EXACT same motor. Only difference is .6 liters and 50 HP. Many people believe that GM /Cadillac only gave the Aurora 4.0 liters instead of the Caddy 4.6 so they would not compete against their own product. But the engines are basically identical . vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
