trouble shooting , lessons learned on 94 GCglass 11-22-2004, 04:12 PM the "new" to me 94 GC 4x4 ,had what seemed like a trans problem , the infamous shift bump..and sluggish take off when gas was applied ... had the trans rebuilt , but problem was still there , changed all the sensors that I could find , still had a sluggish take off from standstill, checked the catalytic converter for stoppage , ran gas treatment cleaners for the injectors , was told it was the rebuilt torque converter , but on placing it on a lift , the mechanics found that it was the front brakes binding , making the front wheels difficult to rotate, overheated them , and made it worse especially in city driving ,..... on the highway, the pressure released enough that the brakes didnt overheat and catch fire , tracking the problem to brake line interior deterioration, or master cylinder check valve, or calipers binding , it s in the shop , will have it tomorrow , throw enough money at it , and you eventually find the cause , but I'm happy , because , I really like that car Cam7 11-23-2004, 05:50 AM A bad brake hose will do the same symtom as you described. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
