Losing Coolant

I Need Help - My Van Is Losing Coolant Pretty Fast, I Don't Know Where It Is Going. I Cannot Visualize Any Leaks. I Have Had The Intake Manifold Changed Out And Do Not Visualize Foam In The Oil. I Had A Local Radiator Mech. Look At It And He Could Not Figure It Out. He Performed A Pressure/leak Test But No Leak Was Found. He Also Checked The Hoses, Fans, Thermostat And Changed The Cap. My Husband Did Notice Some Coolant Pooled At The Back Of The Engine.

Its probably leaking externally, but burning off when it drips onto the motor. Sounds like bad manifold or head gasket. Mechanic should have been able to solve this one, very common problem with this motor. There is a new spec gasket issued by GM in 2002 to fix this issue. If yours was replaced prior to this or with some other brand, it would only be a matter of time before it failed again.

I Brought My Car To A Different Mech. And Found Out It Was My Intake Manifold, So I Made Sure They Were Aware Of The Revision To The Gasket. They Said That They Did Get It From The Dealer And That The Gasket Has Been Revised Several Times. So I Am So Happy I Found This Site Because It Does Seem To Be Working Well Now.
