hello band new to the forum ok here's the set up i got a 92 stanza XE auto tranny. it seems to be stuck in second gear(( will go into R D 1 2)) but won't shift out of second. sounds like a comp problem to me but does anyone kno a way i could Fix this with out takin it to a shop.

extra info : the person before me that had this messed up the shiter arrea messed witjh some wires and the Comfort power switch for the tanny could any of theese things be the reason for the NONE SHIFTING trany ............

complete rebuild 260k miles runs like a beast

just drop the tranny pan from the bottom of tranny and change the filter inside. Most likly it is clogged so bad that fluid isn't going thruogh. Thats all you have to do and it will shift. It is in no way a computer problem. Have fun and be safe.....

Are you from Spokane? What car do you drive?

is the fluid al the way up? if so the governor may be bad inside the tranny. even if the mode select wiring was messed up it should shift out of second. and by the way the tranny pan is on the top of the transmission in a stanza.:smokin: its a pain to change the filter, i have my extra one ripped down to nothing in my garage and it still was hard to get to lol.
