Anyone replace their stock radio in your 87 CRX with an after market? If so, did you need any installation kit to mount. I am aware of the new wiring harness plug that is needed.

No kit needed, you also won't need a wiring harness plug since your new head unit will splice right into your CRX wiring. If someone is trying to sell you a harness plug, tell them they're full of crap. I have installed many head units, speakers and amplifiers in different cars and my CRX was one of the easiest installations I've ever done.

Yeah, but some of us rather like the harness adapters. :D If you have the spare :2cents: buy them. They do make the installation alot easier. ;)

Yes, Harness adapters will make it easier, but most CRX's only have 2 front speakers, making this an extremely easy and basic installation to begin with. There are a total of 7 wires to connect, constant battery, switched battery (ignition), L signal, R signal, and 3 grounds. I just don't see the point in needing a wiring adapter unless you have never installed a stereo system before. In that case, yes, you'd be better off with an adapter since you won't have to be concerned with what wire goes where, you just plug and play.

Although, if you're adding more speakers and/or an amplifier, a CRX wiring adapter will not work, in this situation you should be running all new wire anyway making the purchase of an adapter pointless. Save the $9.99-$14.99 that you would have spent on the adapter an buy yourself a new CD to listen to on your new system!

Thanks much. I installed with no problem, I did buy the harness and made a plug n' play very easy.
