i have a 96 gsr w/ exhaust intake and headers and was wondering what would be better a turbo or supercharger and how much psi i could run with a turbo without shit breaking

turbo. there is no magic number when it comes to boost. to be safe, i'd say around 6-8 pounds on stock internals. that is, not runnning some pos fpr and having it tuned by someone who knows what they are doing

turbo. for one simple reason. a turbo is spooled up by the exhaust. once it hits it's max efficiency RPM, it maintains that untill the shift. a supercharger (although on constant) is turned buy pulley, so it doesn't reach it's max efficiency (if it even gets there at all) until near the end of the engine's RPM's. the pulley ratio is stepped down because if the supercharger over spins, the velocity of the air will reach mach speed and stop flowing.

not exactly. actually, the opposite. a smaller turbo will die out in the top end where as super charger will push more air until your engine stops revving higher.

well yes, a smaller turbo does die sooner. however, theoretically the turbo is more efficient than the supercharger. but yes, as u said, size duz matter.
