2006 civic spy shotsshaun1982 11-17-2004, 03:51 AM http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=301576 what do u guys think of it. here in australia, i reckon its alright, kinda reminds me of the 206 peurgot ? here downunder we didnt get the 7th gen 2 door hatch, only the 4 door and 4 door sedan, so this change will be alright, shaun1982 11-17-2004, 03:52 AM and how would the type r version look GScivic7 11-17-2004, 05:17 AM OMG I'm never going to buy a Honda Civic newer than 2000 now. Beastiek2 11-17-2004, 12:04 PM :wtf: Tiburon99 11-17-2004, 03:02 PM Ugly as hell, luckly I am sticking with the Tiburon, or as it will be known as by 2006 the HCD-8. Look it up here!-http://www.ottawahyundai.com/oh04/news/news05.html Shaguar47 11-17-2004, 06:06 PM OMG I'm never going to buy a Honda Civic newer than 2000 now. You are exactly right. But staring at it for a few minutes, I'm a little mixed though on either it's good or bad. It looks really neat up front but the back end treatment is just horrible. The tsx like headlights are a very nice touch but come on honda, give us something better. Hopefully, if the crx is coming back, it won't be treated this way at all or honda will def. lose my interest later in the years. But here's another thing, hopefully they'll come with performace this time so getting one with a K20A2 in it would be sweet for stock. GScivic7 11-17-2004, 06:09 PM I was reading up on it and there is speculation that there will be a Type R released along with the new body style. This may just make it worth it. Considering whatever body mods they add to it make it look better than that thing up there. blasian_man 11-17-2004, 06:13 PM i hope i don't offfend anyone when i say this, but for some reason i see a little bit of daewoo in the profile, i think it was called the lanos in the US. if thats the new civic, hopefully Honda won't make the mistake of trying to sell here in america, b/c people just aren't gonna buy it GScivic7 11-17-2004, 06:18 PM you hit it on the head. That FUGLY ASS Daewoo hatchback. What a piece of shit, and this is coming from a Korean lol. Shaguar47 11-17-2004, 06:18 PM I am truly hoping that honda is considering putting the type-r civic in production for us. And your right cause it would be worth the wait. Also honda has moved the 4 years model update to 5 so what ever we'll get, we'll have to deal with it for 5 yrs. And is that a 4 door hatchback? If so, then hopefully the 2-door hatchback and coupe will look much better or I'm not gettting one in the future at all. It almost makes the 05 civic si hatchback look like god compared to that thing. GScivic7 11-17-2004, 06:28 PM the one in the pic doesn't look like it has a second set of doors, but the article says you can expect a 5-door version soooooo....... ridestreet84 11-18-2004, 11:30 AM i agree with you all that is one ugly looking maybe civic CivicSpoon 11-18-2004, 01:41 PM Sure that's not a Saturn Ion? phantastic1 11-18-2004, 02:15 PM looks like the front of a chrysler sebring NerveAgent 11-20-2004, 05:31 AM the more i look at it.. the more it kinda grows on me but..i gotta see final production to judge it. but from the pictures...ehhhh i dunno. Ricochet 11-23-2004, 06:44 PM I'd have to agree with the notes below where it says "That's obviously not a Civic" a few times. 6dmnbag 11-29-2004, 09:09 PM I think the people over at the civic design department have been hitting the pipe a little too much or they were procrastinating and when the time came to design the car they just threw a bunch of parts together and they got lucky? Dr.Gonzo 11-30-2004, 01:17 AM It's not that bad from the aerodynamics stand point it looks pretty good. Atleast it's not like the new VW Jetta as a MKIII Jetta owner those cars look like bloated heavier versions of the 4dr Ford Focus. I don't think it looks too bad. Beastiek2 12-08-2004, 01:03 PM More info on the 06' Vic Several weeks ago we provided a summary of some of the things we had heard to that point with respect to the '06 Civic. Recently we've heard a few more things regarding the Si model in particular and we thought we'd once again summarize what we've heard: The Si will definitely be a coupe The body is said to be low and wide and quite sporty in appearance, borrowing some styling cues from several current Honda and Acura models, particularly the flared wheel wells with circular arches. The A-pillar has a dramatic sweep, very similar to the rake shown in the spyshots of the European Civic (http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=301576) that were published earlier. The projector headlight housings are said to be shaped like the TSX's Track-tuned suspension sits as much as 1" lower than stock, wheel well gaps are said to be minimal. The Si will use 17" wheels with 205 or 215mm width tires. The transmission will be a standard 6MT The engine is said to be i-VTEC, with at least 200hp. Supposedly the possibility exists that it will get 210 hp or more The seats will be quite sporty with fairly aggressive bolstering A Navi system is rumored to be an option Si will launch slightly later than regular coupe and sedan models, late in Q4 of 2005. With these developments, there are whispers floating about that the RSX's days could be numbered. Shaguar47 12-08-2004, 04:59 PM Now I'm dreaming of that over the 99-00 si. The 6mt sounds so sweet. Look-out SI, here I come. That car, if said right, will pack a serious punch in the competition. :) Beastiek2 12-08-2004, 05:22 PM I ammmmmmmmmmmmm thinking about trading mine in and saying screw the k20A swap that I saved for. Trading my Vic in will be cheaper then the swap which is hard to believe but true. GScivic7 12-09-2004, 02:26 AM A friend of mine contemplated swapping in a K20 about a year ago. With the amount of money he spent in show prepping his car on top of throwing in the K20 was close to the same price as buying an STi, this is including the cost of the Civic, so guess what he did lol. Parted out everything on his Civic, and traded it for an STi. He's much happier now. GScivic7 12-09-2004, 02:30 AM With these developments, there are whispers floating about that the RSX's days could be numbered. sounds like Honda is trying to weed out their line up and is sorta becoming Japan's Cadillac. First they drop the CL and then if the RSX goes, all they'll have is 3 sedans, 1 SUV, and 1 supercar/exotic (how do you classify the NSX?) GScivic7 12-09-2004, 01:15 PM haha, well I can think of better cars with a near 100k price tag. NerveAgent 12-10-2004, 03:06 PM http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNjgyNTg1NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg i like this. i would get it. Beastiek2 12-10-2004, 11:37 PM ^^With a K20 motor I'd trade my EX in a sec. Ricochet 12-11-2004, 12:03 AM http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNjgyNTg1NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg i like this. i would get it. That thing's uglier than shit, but at least Honda is finally putting some balls under the hood. Shaguar47 12-11-2004, 08:31 AM I guess in the future, we'll be seeing less astounding looks, but more performance which is badly needed. Shaguar47 12-17-2004, 07:21 PM Hey guys, if you read in the december issue of motortrend, there is a concept picture of the si. What da think? http://motortrend.com/future/spied/112_0412_future0201_l.jpg exman98 12-19-2004, 11:45 PM looks like a mix between a neon and a lamborgini NerveAgent 12-21-2004, 01:01 PM drawings always look weird. You gotta see them in in person is decide. but as for the pictures. All the concepts lean towards that focus euro hatch look. Hopefully it isn't too heavy. Swordie 12-22-2004, 01:06 AM Are they going to do a sedan? GrayV 12-22-2004, 01:52 AM eeewwwwwwwwwwww 90Civic4G 12-29-2004, 03:36 PM U-g-l-y. Shaguar47 12-29-2004, 05:02 PM I don't see what's so ugly about it. I'd take that over the current hatchback si anyday. riccimangan 01-03-2005, 02:39 PM don't like it at all, i'll stick with my 2004 civic thanx honda_racing101 01-14-2005, 09:46 PM http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=301576 what do u guys think of it. here in australia, i reckon its alright, kinda reminds me of the 206 peurgot ? here downunder we didnt get the 7th gen 2 door hatch, only the 4 door and 4 door sedan, so this change will be alright, UHG...im gonna be sick :banghead: that thing is repulsive vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
