We are learning Illustrator in my Digital Media class, but im no where near that skill level, holy cow! asaenz 11-16-2004, 11:58 AM Dude that looks fanastic. I have half a nurve to say your lieing but I wont. :) So why don't you post some stages of that work or write a tutorial? I can tell you did it in AI becuase of the slick tires and the lack of cast shadow. I would add a cast shadow that is just me though. Awesome job Al Zwofurti 11-16-2004, 01:32 PM i have that pic of the vette on my computer=) u didnt draw that.. Ra_15 11-16-2004, 03:17 PM If you really did that, your amazing. We are learning Illustrator in my Digital Media class, but im no where near that skill level, holy cow! thanks... it doesn't take as much skill as you think probably, just A LOT of time. btw, this is only the second picture i've made with illustrator. i had a project for a class where i had to take a picture of a cell phone and just use the pen tool to create the whole thing. i finished, and liked it, so i thought i'd try it with a car. Kile 11-16-2004, 06:37 PM Dude that looks fanastic. I have half a nurve to say your lieing but I wont. :) So why don't you post some stages of that work or write a tutorial? I can tell you did it in AI becuase of the slick tires and the lack of cast shadow. I would add a cast shadow that is just me though. WOW that is a lot of layers. Did you use a certian method tought to you by your teacher or did you just start using AI and develop it as you went along? Kile 11-17-2004, 05:18 PM I believe you now. The detail on the close ups you posted is amazing. How long did take? a couple of days, i don't really remember. it's been awhile since it was finished.... back in march, i think. Kile 11-17-2004, 05:25 PM WOW that is a lot of layers. Did you use a certian method tought to you by your teacher or did you just start using AI and develop it as you went along? we were given a bunch of different shapes in illustrator for practice, and with the pen tool we had to outline them as best we could. i just did it over and over until i learned how to work with the tool.. once i felt comfortable with it i was able to do that.. just takes practice, time and basically one tool. . stuffbyalex 11-17-2004, 10:24 PM don't know much about graphic programs, but from what I can see, it looks like TONS of effort and time were put into this piece. Great job! Alex asaenz 11-18-2004, 01:47 PM we were given a bunch of different shapes in illustrator for practice, and with the pen tool we had to outline them as best we could. i just did it over and over until i learned how to work with the tool.. once i felt comfortable with it i was able to do that.. just takes practice, time and basically one tool. . I am very good w/ the pen tool. I was just wondering what the various methods are for coloring the car. It seems you just jumped in and did what ever you felt was right? No ryme or reason or am I wrong? al I have two drawings of JDM Tegs but I haven't colored them because I was trying to figure out what was the best way to do that. I guess I just need to play around w/ them, like you. I will post them if you want to see them. Kile 12-03-2004, 01:32 AM I was just wondering what the various methods are for coloring the car. It seems you just jumped in and did what ever you felt was right? . yup.. it will take awhile, just play around with the gradients until it looks right. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
