Cruise controlTheExplorerMan 11-15-2004, 01:07 PM I recently bought a 97 explorer and the cruise does not work. Is there a series of fuses or what should I be looking for. When I push the on button I get NO response what so ever. When I push the accel button I get a green dialog than says cruise cont. But nothing happens with it maintaining speed> Any help would be appreciated. exploer17 12-12-2004, 10:35 PM I am having almost the same problem with my '93. When I first got it the cruise control worked, then the light went on with no response, then nothing at all. I am thinking a switch needs to be replaced -- I too tried the fuses to no avail -- or the vacuum isn't working. Nonetheless I am taking it to the shop tomorrow. If the jury is still out, I can let you know what they say about mine. Wish I could help more. Saffy 12-13-2004, 02:32 PM I'm having the same problem with my 94. It hasn't worked since I bought it used... I don't get a light or anything. I've tested all the fuses, replaced most of them just to be safe, traced wiring and there's nothing I can see... but I'm not a mechanic so that doesn't mean much. If anyone figures it out please post here and let us know =P The speeding tickets are starting to make me sad. -Saff molehole 12-13-2004, 03:27 PM Yeah if anyone knows of a fix, my 94 XLT's cruise stopped working recently. Before that it worked perfectly. I would guess its vacuum related since before it went it wouldn't disengage when I pressed the brake. I had to shut it off a t the switch. Thanks for any help you can give :) ABLE3605 01-28-2005, 12:25 AM My cruise control and fuel guage went out at the same time. I looked for fuses for them, but had no luck. Someone told me to look for a bad fuel float. B33p3r 01-28-2005, 06:27 PM Just a thought. Brake pressure switch disengages the cruise control. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
