My Wheel Fell Off!sportwood24 11-14-2004, 11:06 PM Hey everyone I have a funny story about my 96 SC. I was driving to school and pulling into the parking lot when BOOM my drivers side wheel fell off and was rolling beside me on the passenger side! so that was fun. The entire hub assembly had broken thus the reason for the wheel falling off. so yeah they put the wheel on but couldnt align it and f-d up the brakes also so i couldnt even drive it. VERY VERY VERY bad experience with Saturn as much as that is hard to believe. and they said that after the wheel was on it they could not align it because the front and rear knuckles were bent. So my question is one where and what are the knuckles. and two how hard or easy are they to replace and where can i get them? Autozone whatever NAPA any help would be Awesome!!!! sierrap615 11-14-2004, 11:40 PM i would get it repaired perfecinaly, just incase something else is damaged, maybe not where you've already have been, my parts list only shows one steering knuckle, not two. unless they are talking about one for the front wheel and one for the rear wheel. what it does- the hub rotates with the rotor, wheel, and half-shaft right? the knuckle is right behind the hub, it does not rotate, but it pivots/turns with the steering wheel. it contants the wheel bearing and supports the wieght of the vehicle and transfers it to the wheels. i don't have a how-to but i don't think it will be to hard. good way to waste a saturday. you may need one or two special tools, autozone may let you borrow them. autozone and NAPA may have the parts you need, i don't know, i normally head straight to the dealership. for more details, you may want to ask on saturnfans.com joyrider 11-15-2004, 12:21 PM BOY does that suck!
