I was cruising in the 2nd lane on the highway going 65 because I was very low on gas and wanted to make sure I could make it home. Anyway, An '03 Civic Si pulls next to me in the slow lane and paces me...no revving or anything but I glanced over and he was looking at my car. So I put it in 4th and pull up a little bit. He does the same so then I give it a bit more in 4th and get in front of him(highway was pretty busy) he stayed behind me. So then there was a nice big clearing up ahead and I felt like punching it (getting closer to home and I figured I had just enough gas for some fun)

So I wanted to see if he could keep pace. I dropped it in the 3rd and just floored it hehe. At first he was keeping pace but I shifted into 4th and got past 100 he really started to fall back not sure If he didn't want to go any faster. So then after getting up to 110 fairly quickly I drop her back down to 65 and WOW I have like no gas LOL. So I see him back there weaving around a bit and he catches me. My offramp is coming soon but just enough room for one more little run. We both get into 3rd at about 65 and punch it. I slowly walk him to about 90 or so and then I had to get off while he sped away in the fast lane. BTW Mine is a 97 Camaro M5 Flowmaster cat back and SLP CAI, and I'm pretty sure he was stock, but I just know he had stock exhaust. Maybe he had some stuff done but I couldn't tell. It was fun though.

Are we talking about the 160hp Si here? If so, there is no way a stock V6 Camaro can run one. I have successfully paced V6's in my parents Dodge Caravan with 10 less hp than the Si has. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks that is weird.

Yes I am talking about the 160 hp SI here...You are probably thinking of the '93-'95 V6 Camaro with a 3.4 V6 that has 160 HP and 200 TQ. Yes...from a roll that will probably lose to the SI stock for stock, althoguh from a stop that would be a decent race.

But I have a 3.8 V6 that comes with 200 hp and 225 STOCK...and as I stated in my post I have a Flowmaster cat back and SLP cold air induction kit....so.....that's why I beat him pretty handily. I think I would have even beaten him if I was stock too, but just barely. Also there was a good chance he wasn't stock...

pretty kill. I hate people who have stock imports and want to race you no matter what. They always seem to lose.

03 si's might be on the slow side, but it has a overall nice look to it. Interior just looks dang sporty and the headlights are really cool looking.

You should super charge the V6 and then you will have a beast on your hands.

Ya there is only ONE smog legal (CARB) SC kit out there for these cars and they run close to $4,000 brand new. They add about 100 hp though to the fly (about 60 wheel hp) There was one on ebay a week ago that didn't get any bids and ended at like $2500 or so, wish I had the money..:( But in all honesty, I'm just gonna get an LS1 in a couple years or so. :)

I raced a 03 honda civic last month, I put it to shame. We were beside each other at about 35 mph. I herd him shift down and he started to pull away and then i punched it in secound, I PASSED HIM LIKE HE WAS STANDING STILL. I then got in front of him and left him.
