leaking pushrod tubes flwrpwrvwchk1974 11-12-2004, 09:49 PM
quick question...? Is it possible to change out the push rod tubes with new stock ones without removing the cyllinder heads.? 1600 cc. boschmann 11-14-2004, 07:50 PM Not with a stock solid tube. There are complicated two piece replacement tubes available, but they tend to leak. 66fasty 11-20-2004, 05:41 PM I have Scat blue tubes and the minute I started up the engine they started to leak. They do have some anodized gold ones a much higher spring pressure that I think would be less likely to leak because the plastic ones don't have that much pressure. So I think the gold tubes would be the way to go personally but I will warn you they have a really strong spring. barretire 11-23-2004, 11:47 AM quick question...? Is it possible to change out the push rod tubes with new stock ones without removing the cyllinder heads.? 1600 cc. It is but your much better off with the other style, The adjustbale ones often leak 66fasty 11-23-2004, 04:47 PM So do you recommend stock ones or the stainless ones as an alternative as 3 of my plastic ones leak? StJeromeIsGeronimo 01-27-2005, 06:39 PM It's been said before, but let me add my 30 yr. experiece "two cents worth"... use the original stock tubes, all the rest are unreliable. 5gcivic 01-27-2005, 08:59 PM It's been said before, but let me add my 30 yr. experiece "two cents worth"... use the original stock tubes, all the rest are unreliable. :iagree: I would just go ahead and pull the heads(it isnt that hard) and put some original ones in there that way there we be less a chance of them leaking.
