Okay, so I've read the FAQ thread about where to buy an Sr20det. I'm curious as to where you guys with SR20's got yours. I need to find some place refutable to make a purchase. I'm comtemplating the S13 Blacktop motor cuz' it's more cost-effective than an S14 motor. Any and all help with my search would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

correction isn't the s13 a redtop and the s14 a blacktop?

yes, the blacktop is the newer one!

just a question....in the s 14 chasiss...when installing an sr20 red top...does the tranny (or motor) mounts line up ? my bro is geting an sr20 red top with trans,harnes and original ecu for 1900$ is that a resonable price....? i plan on doing the install but i need some extra advice from you expirenced people.......if not...my bro has to pay 250$ more.....but an extra $$ saved is an extra part to install........oh well.....:(

Actually, the S13 model had a redtop and a blacktop model. The difference in the S14 was that it had variable valve timing. 87civic- everything is a direct fit. Check out heavythrottle.com.

The only thing that dosn't fit is the temp gauges gets screwed up when installing the S13 SR in an S14. Don't remember how to fix it though....
