i gotta 89 240sx with da sohc and i wanna put the ca18de motor in the cheapest i can. the pulsar nx has the ca18de motor but its fwd is there any modifications i need to do to put it in the 240 or is it jus changing the tranny?

FF drivetrain cars have the engine aligned sideways compared to FR which have them straight in the engine bay. This is due to the existence of a driveshaft in the FR. I highly doubt the the money it'll cost you to do all that will be worth putting a non-turbo 1.8 litre into a 240... instead of a 2.4 sohc. You could be better off w/ the ka24e...

just try and pick up a ka24de for a few hundred dollers from like a salvage yard or something...

why not just get the ca18det from ebay, they go for pretty decent prices, ~$900-$1200 dollars for a front clip, even cheaper for the motorset if you dont need the extra stuff, the swap isn't that hard

is the rwd tranny a direct bolt on or is there fabrication to turn it side ways or do i jus have to buy motor mounts

umm, then why are you getting the ca18de... you want the ca18det which was in the 89-90 silvia... RWD already, don't waste your time on fabrication of a FWD engine when there is a RWD version...

i still think this is the best idea for you, do some research in your city on much you could pick one of these up for....

in the s13 they came wit 3 models k q j the k model came wit the ca18det the q and j came wit the ca18de thats wat i want then ill drop a turbo on when i hook up the na first

well then, get the ca18de from a silvia then, not a pulsar
