I'm only getting 300 mi. on a full tank -- what gives?? (94 auto g20 106k)tim-may 02-24-2002, 02:04 AM I bought it Aug 2001 with 98k and gas mileage has been dropping slowly ever since? cliffud 02-24-2002, 03:06 AM 300 miles per tank is pretty average for me... if i don't stomp on the gas, i get about 330. if i do... i get about 280. the only modification i have is advanced timing and a header. ever since i got those two things done though, it's hard to keep my mpg up because i'm having so much damn fun stomping on the gas! soooooooo- perhaps that's your problem? god- i don't even want to see what will happen once i put my CAI on. i'll probably get 2 gallons per mile. by the way- 1993 P10 with 101,000 miles -clifford Primal SMX 02-24-2002, 03:19 PM Check your O2 sensor as i checked mine on my P11 even though the check engine light did not come on at all. I replaced it and straight away i felt a power increase in the low end and my economy went up too. tim-may 02-24-2002, 10:37 PM cliff -- yea, I occasionally mash the pedal in between fill-ups .. oops :sun: I suppose I'll try not doing that for a few hundred miles or so .. primal -- Are the o2 sensors easy to check? Oh, and are there just 2? What i did was spray mine liberally with carb cleaner and when it was dry i re-installed it. Sorry but i do not know much about the second sensor but there are plenty of old threads on this subject. I hope this helps poppy_morenito 02-25-2002, 05:59 PM Ok Where is the O2 sensor. If someone could do one of those " Picture for Dummies" with the arrow Photoshoped in I'd appreciate it .... JustinP10 02-25-2002, 10:46 PM Damn, i must really have a lead foot then... i only average high 2x miles in the city, 3x on the highway, if i drive on the highway. How many gallons do you normally fill up with, after a 300+ mile tank? cliffud 02-26-2002, 02:20 AM ok yeah- if a G20 has over 100,000 miles... does the O2 sensor need to be cleaned/replaced???? i kinda remember having one that hooks into the header (now i kinda wish i cleaned it while everything was out and when i swapped to a HS one) the o2 sensor that goes to the header is REALLY apparent... look for two wires that go to something that looks like a spark plug which sticks into your header. the other one: uhhhhh- i dunno. -clifford ky_infiniti2000 02-26-2002, 08:08 PM Originally posted by cliffud the other one: uhhhhh- i dunno. -clifford [/B] The other O2 sensor is bolted into the cat-convertor. tim-may 02-26-2002, 09:39 PM Justinp10 -- I'm not 100% positive, but I think I put in 13-13.5 gallons after 300 miles or so (I'll check next time I fill up) boingo82 02-26-2002, 10:12 PM That's still 23 mpg. This car is rated 21-29 City-Highway by EPA. You're not doing too shabby considering you're driving with a lead foot. (I'm assuming.) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
