97 breeze steering wheel vibration @ idleJHZR2 11-10-2004, 10:42 PM Hi, I posted this on the plymouth breeze forum, but the forum looks pretty dead, so Im hoping that itll get more views here... I have a 97 plymouth breeze, 2.0L, AT,which has about 70k. Besides a bad headgasket, it has been a good car, despite two recalls. Its a nice vehicle to drive, and is pretty efficient, although the engine could have more power... Anyway, for a long time now, there has been an issue with the steering wheel, when the car is at idle. At hot idle especially, when sitting, car in drive, at a stop, the steering wheel shakes violently. The engine idles fine and smooth, and it doesnt seem to be related to the engine. But the steering wheel shakes a lot. Putting it in neutral helps reduce it somewhat, but it still can be noticed. Dealer doesnt have an idea... Any ideas??? Thanks, JMH hundahunta 11-10-2004, 11:01 PM check the motor mounts, trans mount, crankshaft damper JHZR2 11-10-2004, 11:20 PM are they glycol filled or solid rubber? The engine exhibits no shake when the steering wheel is doing this... Thanks, JMH vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
