I see some threads about replacing head gaskets on Ventures... I think my story tops them all!
2002 Venture, 37500 miles, out of warranty one month. Head gasket needs replaced. Chevy paying for 1/2 of the $1700 bill. I have to pay another $200 for the second (front) gasket to be replaced. About $1000 total. I sure wish I could go back a few months and pay $2000 for that extended warranty now!!!

HI
Yea, I had mine replaced on Tuesday at 70,000 kms, about the same as your mileage. I also talked GM into paying half. Personally I think it is pitiful that these engines cant run for ever without leaking. They told me that starting in 2003 there is a 5 year 100,000 km power train warranty that I assume would cover this.
I am not in the market for a vehicle, but if I was I am afraid a north American model would not be on the list. Maybe I'm unlucky, but these break downs are just to early in there life. In the same breath, I think the Honda Van is over $40,000 which is a lot of coin!
